I think the chance of getting a perfect mod is still as rare, but now you can put that mod on a skin you like instead of being stuck with a bad skin. Sure that may lower value a little, but I doubt it will actually kill the value totally.

The game is more about friends and making unique builds for specific areas for me though so I may not be as sensitive as a person who rates farming high on their fun scale.

I totally agree with you. The new inscription system is awesome. I love being able to get a good damage mod and put it on a better weapon. Now if i get a 14% dmg while hexed i can change it with another dmg mod. Its a great idea and i love it.

Everyone remember the 70+ pages long thread about inscriptions?
I was among those that were actually worried about the incoming system changes.

The only upside of the system is that it doesnt affect the canthan/tyrian items.
But there are more downsides than expected!

They are incredibly common! Much more than predicted. Even the perfect ones!
This makes most of them extremelly hard to sell.
*The system came with absolutely no storage / trading improvements.*
They take insane amounts of storage space!
Instead of keeping only ~~2% of found golds (before), now ~~20% gold drops contain a perfect something worth salvaging!
So now we have to keep all those perfect playable mods and nice skin low req inscribable golds
This makes me have to Merch those perfect inscriptions for 25g or spam them for long hours for a few plat...
I can make any perfect thing i want any time i want now! And i hate it as theres nothing exciting about it anymore.
It's now like the PvP item creation window, which is awesome for PvP but makes no sense in PvE.

And No im not a farmer, i only played through the game normally and opened all the chests i came across.

The system may be newbie freindly, but aren't the majority of GW:NF buyers already playing the game for months?

I can only hope that the 1 Dec update will come with rescue but probably it will be exact opposite - lots of new 'valuable' things will take even more storage space and the new item aquisition system may be even further removing a healthy economy from the game, turning it even more into a Solo Online RPG.

Sorry, but I disagree with all of you farmers who don't like the system. You may think that GW is no longer fun because Anet has "ruined" your farming and money making, but I think most people play for the intended gameplay and not for farming and gold making.

The point is that inscriptions are a very nice feature that makes building weapons fun and flexible. There is simply no reason to take the system out now, other than a few people complaining about "ruined" economy and the "ruined accomplishments" of finding the perfect weapon. I think more than a few people find excitement in even finding a 15^50 mod now to put on the weapon of their choice.

The inscription system fits in with GW perfectly. It's user friendly. And there's no way in hell they're going to change it back to the old archaic way.

P.S. I've noticed a lot of you are the same people from the bored thread. Just an observation.

Totally agree - I've been playinmg GW for nearly 18 month's and inscriptions are the best addidtion yet, it's just a pity they don't affect Canthan and Tyrian weapons to as I have a few I'd like to change the stats of. Also inscriptions mean that if I find an elemental or dead sword it dosen't matter what stats it has as I can chanmge them to what I want to use rather than get a crap one and have to pay stupid amounts to someone lucky enough to find the type I'm after.

TBH I don't give a monkey's about the economy as I play GW to quest with mates not to farm solo - if I wanted to play solo I'd play an offline RPG with more depth, story and things to do than GW.

Inscription give you the option to get the weapons you wanted and modded anyway you wish. Say you wanted a 15% above 50 scyth or a 15% while in stance sword, you can get these inscription and find the right weapons to mod it up. I think this worked kind of like collector items. You basically collect the inscription (buy it or farm for it) than when you get the weapon type you wanted to mod. You put the inscription on it.
